It's Marvel 3, Baby!
Happy Marvel Day! After 10 years of anticipation, Marvel vs. Capcom 3 is out today! I'm not even sure if my copy arrived yet, but you should try finding me (CarmineMac) on PSN or XBL.
What else happened on launch day? When MvC2 came out ten years ago, launch day meant that the game was released and would remain as-is for ten years. With MvC3's release comes the announcement of the first of many inevitable DLC packages. Capcom-Unity has some details and screenshots of the costume pack that will be released on March 1st. Although the highly demanded "Bucky" Captain America is included, am I the only one who thinks that this is too soon? If Capcom expects the game to sell well and be long-lived, trying to cash in on DLC so early may be putting the cart before the horse.

2 Days Until MvC3
Check out footage of famous longtime (ST, CVS2) player Buktooth playing MvC3. He worked on the strategy guide, so he's got some experience already.

3 Days to MvC3
That is Patron tequila being poured out. What does that have to do with MvC3? Well, this picture was taken at the launch party out in Cali.

5 Days to MvC3
I have nothing to say about it — out of spite — because everyone except me is already playing the game or partying with Wu Tang and Hieroglyphics and the release party. Me? I'm stuck at work!

6 Days to MvC3
Rumors abound that some mom-and-pop shops in Manhattan may have the game as early as tomorrow; however, there are still six days preceding the game's actual launch date. Today's update comes via SRK and features Tragic's Youtube channel. Check out the full list and subscribe, if you'd like. He may not post regularly, but anything that he does post is totally worth viewing.

One Week Until MvC3 is Not Just a Dream
I really liked the interviews Gootecks recorded at the recent LA Fight Club, and not just because Seth Killian talks about multiple people having Marvel dreams. Even more interesting is how Miles Mosley eloquently explains the unique gaming culture that things like Capcom's Fight Clubs are a result of.

8 Days to... Wait, What?!
Supposedly, Best Buy stores around the nation are installing MvC3 demo kiosks this week. According to a commenter on SRK, Manhattan's Union Square store has the game, and they're open 24 hours! I will investigate this. Anyone interested in meeting there this evening? Let me know.
According to Best Buy, the following nearby stores should also have the demo soon:

10 Days to MvC3
In ten days, Capcom begins their quest to sell 2 million units of MvC3 this year (according to SRK). Will they succeed? Will they surpass 2 million in far less than a year? Either way, we will be playing the game in ten short days.

Two Weeks to Marvel 3, Baby!
NeoEmpire had a great Q&A session with Seth Killian, but the site apparently went down due to excessive traffic. Thanks to Google Cache, I was able to access the information. Highlights include:
- DLC characters have story mode, endings, and missions.
- MvC3 has more accurate connection-speed detection than SSF4.

15 Days to Galactus' Attack
I would embed the leaked Galactus video that was on YouTube right here, but it has been taken down. Instead, I'll do my best to describe the boss encounter. The scene from the Akuma reveal trailer showing Cosmic Doom is from the final boss battle. You actually fight Cosmic Doom and Cosmic Akuma simultaneously. Once they are defeated, you fight Galactus. He only appears from the chest up on the right side of the screen and is huge, like Apocalypse from XMvSF and MSHvSF. He takes huge swipes with his hands and shoots lasers from his eyes. Apparently, he has a Super of sorts that causes him to move behind the playfield and blast lasers from his fingertips and eyes simultaneously. He looks pretty cool, but is very likely to be unplayable.
UPDATE: I found a YouTube video that works, but who knows for how long...

16 Days to Mission Mode
Shoryuken brings to our attention this video, which teases MvC3's Mission Mode. There appear to be 10 trials per character, all of which take place in a remake of MvC2's Danger Room training stage. This video also gives us a glimpse of the game's title screen.

17 Days to MvC3
Capcom has confirmed to Shacknews that there are more character reveals coming in the next few weeks. Will they be on the disc or DLC? I guess we'll know soon.

18 Days to MvC3
Check out this interesting article from iPlaywinner.
This article, though at times wordy and bombastic, really hits on something I've experienced myself. The author details the nigh-indescribable feeling of playing MvC3. He contrasts that with the experience of SSF4. It is hard to put into words how atrocious it feels to play SSF4 shortly after playing MvC3. MvC3 feels so creative and interesting that everything looks bland in comparison. Will SSF4 be kicked to the curb faster than Mubarak? You'll find out firsthand in a mere 18 days.

19 Days to Sentinel and Hsien-Ko
Sentinel and Hsien-Ko have been revealed! From now on, I may refer to Hsien-Ko by her Japanese name, Lei Lei, which is easier both to type and to say. Fun fact: Her sister is transformed into the talisman that hangs from her hat. Her name is Mei Ling in the West or Lin Lin in Japan.
Lei Lei's Dark Force mode gives her armor!
